We are open, and fully committed to your health and safety

Convergent Movement and Performance is committed to providing truly specialized care with the highest of safety standards during these difficult times.

We are currently open for in-person sessions, as well as for telehealth.

The information on this page provides all of the most up-to-date details on the precise steps we are taking to optimize health, conquer pain, and maximizing physical performance during these uncertain times!   Moving forward, we are utilizing the following process while simultaneously adhering to strict guidelines recommended for health care offices.

Choosing a "Location"

Telehealth Vs. In-Person

Despite all that’s going on surrounding COVID-19, we are committed to being available to anyone that may benefit from our help.

Dr. Ketselman will individually speak to each potential patient prior to initiating therapy in order to determine whether telehealth or in-person sessions would be best.

Many conditions have been shown to be assessed and treated just as well through telehealth as compared to traditional in-person office visits!  And in those cases, telehealth may be far more convenient and accessible.  Nonetheless, while Telehealth is a great option for most, certain conditions may indeed warrant traditional in-person physical therapy in order to receive maximal benefit.

To address this, Convergent Movement and Performance is now offering a free 20-30 minute live video telehealth consult dedicated towards:

  1. Determining whether telehealth is appropriate for your specific circumstances.
  2. Allowing you to experience the telehealth and digital programming process so that you may decide whether you are comfortable with this approach.

Telehealth

Convergent Movement and Performance is excited to announce that we are now offering online physical therapy, wellness, and fitness telehealth and digital services!

Telehealth sessions are private and secure one-on-one video-chat appointments with Dr. Gene Ketselman that you can attend from the comfort of your own home (or other desired location) utilizing a computer or mobile device.

Yes that’s right… say goodbye to the days of needing to take time off work or school, scheduling and planning around other commitments, and dealing with travel time and traffic!

Oh yeah… and let’s not forget about the enormous safety benefit of online services during these challenging times surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19)!

Our “Concierge-Style” Telehealth and digital services include the following key benefits:

  • A secure, private, and encrypted member portal, with access available through web browser and mobile phone app…so you’re always connected and never feel like you’re going through this journey alone.

  • Ability to schedule and conduct one-on-one secure live telehealth video appointments on desktop, laptop, mobile smart phone, and tablet…allowing you to receive live, specialized, and completely individualized one-on-one wellness, physical therapy, and fitness assessments and programs delivered in the comfort of your own home, workplace, or other desired location.

  • Access to specialized programming and between-session coaching… so you know you’re always taking all steps necessary to achieve your goals.
Between session monitoring, accountability, and support provided by Dr. Gene Ketselman…to ensure you remain motivated and prevent falling off track.

  • A platform to illustrate, track, and receive between-session feedback regarding your wellness, rehab, and/or exercise program…so that you’re confident in your actions and won’t wonder “am I doing this right?”

  • Clear and open communication and respectful collaboration between Dr. Gene Ketselman and your physician, coach, trainer, or anyone else you request to be involved in your journey… so that your journey involves a “team effort” with “all hands on deck.”

  • Secure and encrypted: online priority scheduling, direct messaging, video appointments, document and form sharing, and information and transparency on all financial commitments and transactions…for outstanding convenience and the ability to maintain immediate on-demand control at your fingertips.

In-Person

Live in-person physical therapy may also be provided at this time.

If we determine that in-person sessions are more appropriate than telehealth and digital programming for your condition, then we will adhere to the following guidelines nationally recommended for physically therapy offices.

Pre-Session Screening

Convergent Movement and Performance Thermometer

For each session (initial as well as all follow-ups), we ask that all individuals please read the following carefully and respond with your answers PRIOR to arriving to our office.

  1. Have you had any of the following symptoms in the last 14 days?
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fever
    • Chills
    • Body Aches / Generalized muscle pain
    • Sore throat
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  2. Have you traveled outside of New Jersey within the past 14 days?
  3. Have you been exposed to someone diagnosed with, or potentially diagnosed with, COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
    • If “yes,” since exposure, have you been tested for COVID-19?
  4. Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19?
    • If “yes,” do you have records that you have been cleared of it since testing positive?
  5. If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions: Have you discussed these symptoms with your physician?

If you answered yes to any one of questions 1-4 above, we ask that you please let us know PRIOR to the session WHILE YOU ARE STILL HOME so that we can reschedule the appointment.

Even if you do not believe that your symptoms are COVID-19 related, please be honest with this screening process and remain considerate to all those around you. This may seem strict at times, but our mission is to do everything possible to promote safety, health, and wellness.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know. For these circumstances, we are certainly not enforcing a late fee, as safety is the top priority. If you are feeling well and answered “no” to all questions 1-4, we are looking forward to seeing you

During Session Procedures

Convergent Movement and Performance Cleaning

One of the many benefits of Convergent Movement and Performance’s one-on-one session structure is that there is never anyone else present during the session.  This significantly reduces the risk of catching anything. Anyone that is currently being seen within the office is subject to these same standard guidelines, therefore ensuring that we’re doing everything possible to promote health, safety, and a clean atmosphere.

  1. In order to maintain appropriate social distancing, we are currently not utilizing a common waiting room.  Please call upon parking in the parking lot to let us know that you have arrived, and we will meet you at the entrance of the building and personally walk you up to the private treatment room.
  2. We ask that all patients wear a mask/cloth face covering throughout the full length of the session.
  3. Patients may only come to the clinic with a visitor if it is medically necessary or if the patient is a minor.  All visitors will be screened in the same way as the patients.
  4. Prior to entering the treatment room at the start of the session, we will ask that you please either wash your hands with soap and water, or utilize our hand sanitizer.
  5. At the start of each session, we will quickly test your temperature for a fever with a digital forehead thermometer that does not require physical contact.
  6. For your protection: Dr. Ketselman will wear a mask throughout the full session, and gloves will be worn by Dr. Ketselman for all hands-on therapy.
  7. Additionally, please rest assured that the treatment table, furniture, and any piece of therapy/fitness/wellness equipment touched by a patient/client, is always thoroughly cleaned with medical-grade disinfectant before and after each session.

FAQ

The following Frequently Asked Questions are specifically directed towards Telehealth Physical Therapy services.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

No, you do not need a prescription, script, or physician’s referral before scheduling a physical therapy session.

In the state of New Jersey, Physical Therapists are recognized as “Direct Access” healthcare providers. Being a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, Dr. Ketselman possesses the training, knowledge, expertise, and licensure required to evaluate, diagnose, and treat simple through complex pain and injury as well as physical limitations without a prescription or referral from a Physician or alternate healthcare provider.

This means that you can confidently and safely consult with Convergent Movement and Performance directly upon onset of any movement-related pain or injury that is hindering your ability to perform the activities you love.

Nonetheless, here at Convergent Movement and Performance we believe strongly in maintaining clear and open communication and collaboration with your physician/s.  By doing so, we ensure that your healthcare team is updated, aware, and in agreement with everything going on with your condition, treatment, and care.  To help us achieve this goal, we ask that upon intake you provide the contact information for the physician/s with whom you would like us to communicate with.

Yes, many conditions have been shown to be assessed and treated just as well through telehealth as compared to traditional in-person office visits!  Nonetheless, while Telehealth is a great option for most, certain conditions may indeed warrant traditional in-person physical therapy in order to receive maximal benefit.  In order to address this, Convergent Movement and Performance provides the following steps to ensure you are receiving the safest and most optimal care:

  1. We offer a free 20-30 minute consultation through telehealth for anyone interested in having the opportunity to see how everything works.  Additionally, during this consult we can determine together whether this is an appropriate option for you.
  2. In addition, we offer a full refund of your (Telehealth) initial evaluation if you feel that Telehealth may not be the best treatment approach for you.  In order to receive this refund, you simply need to express and communicate that you wish to seek other options PRIOR to the conclusion of the first session.
  3. Finally, for those not appropriate for telehealth, we can either see you for an in-person session within the clinic, or we promise to refer you to other appropriate healthcare providers and clinics should the need arise.

The beauty of telehealth is that healthcare services now come to you, rather than you needing to go to a provider’s office or facility.  There are a few key points to consider though.

First, in order to receive “physical therapy” telehealth services through Convergent Movement and Performance, you are legally required to be physically located within the state of New Jersey at the time of your appointment.  Where specifically in New Jersey is up to you.  This however does not apply if you are receiving wellness or fitness services, and you can therefore be in any geographic region you wish.

Second, you just want to be mindful of your own privacy and security.  Just like any private conversation, it is not recommended to conduct sessions in large, public, or unsecure areas in order to help protect you from eavesdroppers.

This is exactly where the “concierge” aspect of our program truly shines!  Because Convergent Movement and Performance is not a traditional physical therapy clinic, but instead a fully customizable and individualized concierge health and performance service, we are able to design a program that is truly optimal for you!

For example, some may benefit from an in-person initial assessment, and then continue digitally after that first session.  Some on the other hand benefit greatly from in-person assessments and re-assessments conducted once every 4-6 weeks, with digital visits conducted in between those in-person sessions.  Finally, others benefit most from 100% digital or 100% in-person sessions.

This is a truly individualized process, and we will work together to determine the most beneficial combination of in-person and digital services based on your goals, lifestyle, and current health and physical state.

Convergent Movement and Performance is not a traditional physical therapy clinic.  Instead, we are a fully customizable and individualized concierge health and performance service.  These services include, but are not limited to, an individualized combination of wellness coaching, physical therapy examination/treatment, and fitness.

Therefore, the price is completely dependent upon what services and programs are best for you.  For your convenience, we accept cash, check, and credit card for all services.  If you are receiving physical therapy services, you may also have the option of using a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly to discuss programs and pricing.  There is a wide range of program and cost options, and we will work with you to find the best fit.
